現在、当科の立林先生と一緒に米国ボストンにあるBeth Israel Lahey Medical Centerで脳脊髄液漏出症に対する新しい血管内治療を学びに来ています。
本疾患については後日詳しく解説しますが、主に起立性頭痛の原因となるものです。
日本ではまだこの疾患の診断と治療が十分に行われていません。治療法の一つとして血液を注入するプラッドパッチという方法があるのですが、それでも治らないケースが多くあり、患者さんたちはとても困っておられます。
最近、欧米を中心にこの疾患にカテーテル治療が有効という報告が増えてきました。そこで今回は米国ボストンにあるこの病院に学びにきたというわけです。
講師はTimo Krings先生で、以前、トロントにおられた頃から親しくさせていただいていたのですが、今回の訪問では毎日朝7時から夕方までとても詳しく教えて頂けました。ほんと、Timoは素晴らしい先生です！
この治療についてもっと深く学び、一人でも多くの患者さんを適切に治療できるよう頑張っていきたいと思います。

I’m learning a new endovascular treatment for cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) leaks.
This condition often causes headaches that get worse when standing up.
In Japan, it is still hard to properly diagnose and treat this disease.
Many patients don’t get better even with blood patch treatment and suffer a lot.
Recently, doctors in Europe and the US have reported that catheter treatment works well for this condition.
That’s why I came to this hospital in Boston to learn the technique.
My teacher is Dr. Timo Krings. I’ve known him since his time in Toronto, and this time he kindly taught me in detail every day from 7 a.m. to evening. Timo is a really wonderful doctor!
I want to master this treatment and help as many patients as possible back in Japan.
